November 12, 2020:
Evonik continues to monitor the development of the Coronavirus very closely, especially with respect to medical attention and the care for our employees and partners in the affected regions. The health and safety of all is our top priority!
Additionally, we are observing possible impacts on our business and overall supply chain. Our plants continue to operate as usual and at this point in time, we do not see a direct impact of the occurent Coronavirus on our supply chain. We are in close collaboration with suppliers and other partners involved in our supply chain. The current situation is, however, both complex and dynamic, with new or changing measures being announced at a high frequency.
We ask for your understanding that it is not possible for us to give a detailed outlook at a single product level about any possible disruption in our ability to supply. As our company activities are global, and based on associated production and distribution networks we continue to work with highest efforts to gain more clarity on the situation and to enable the delivery of our products as planned.
Be assured that we will continue to observe the situation closely and will take appropriate measures as necessary. We will keep you informed if the situation changes significantly.
Stay safe and healthy!
June 18, 2020:
After the first wave of infection, a turning point seems to have been reached in many countries. Society, as well as the economy are cautiously finding their way back to a kind of normalcy. We would like to welcome back all customers and partners who have been affected by plant closures and are now able to resume operations.
We are pleased to announce that there are still no confirmed COVID-19 cases within our Coating Additives business line. Nevertheless, a certain fundamental vigilance must always be maintained, along with appropriate basic measures. All steps towards a certain normalcy must be adapted to the regional situation and become more decentralized. This also includes face-to-face meetings.
In order to keep in close contact with our business partners we increased our digital activities in recent months. Please have a look at our digital event calendar, LinkedIn and YouTube channel (links below) for trainings, webinars and virtual exhibitions where we present our latest product innovations and technical expertise. Additionally, please don’t hesitate to contact us at any time. We are happy to support you and look forward to our continued dialogues and collaborations.
April 15, 2020:
All our plants continue to operate, and we are producing worldwide.
With the safety of our employees being of top priority, we are pleased to report that no one from our business line has tested positive for COVID-19 to date.
Our colleagues are available to offer continued support with any technical or commercial requests that you may have.
Most of all, we wish all of our customers and business partners continued good health and safety.
March 30, 2020: Update on Coating Additive Production in the United States
As local and state governments are enacting strict measures to control the spread of the coronavirus in the United States, they have, in one way or another, exempted the chemical sector and related scientific and technical operations from these measures. The American Chemistry Council has and continues to work closely with the federal, state and local governments to ensure these measures are appropriately drafted to protect our essential businesses.
As it stands today, the facilities of Coating Additives have been able to use exemptions written into state shut down orders to continue to operate, albeit, often at reduced (but safe) staffing levels. Support is provided by teleworking office and administrative staff. Evonik will continue to monitor and respond to these changing events with health and safety as our top priority.
The U.S. federal critical infrastructure listings and explanation can be found at this link:
March 23, 2020:
Our chemical site in Pandino is not affected by the announcement of Italy’s government to close all non-essential production activities and will therefore remain in operation. We will keep you informed if the situation changes significantly.
March 20, 2020:
The Coronavirus is spreading across the world. Evonik is closely monitoring the situation in all regions.
The welfare of our employees and our commitment to our customers and society are our main priorities. This includes ensuring that Evonik remains capable of operating, producing and supplying as comprehensively as possible. Because our clear goal is to minimize the health and economic impacts as much as possible. With highest priority we have defined measures with respect to medical attention, the care for our employees, as well as possible business impacts.
Evonik has had pandemic plans for many years. They determine how to proceed in the event of a pandemic or epidemic. The Coating Additives business line has furthermore established a crisis management team and a relevant multi-stage pandemic plan. This includes amongst others:
- Protection against infection
- Limitations in travelling – no travelling to risk areas
- Utilization of home office where possible
- Postponement of events and seminars
- Restricted personal contacts with customers, suppliers and visitors with the exception of those critical for operations
- Special safety measures and procedures for employees as well as for outside companies to ensure continuous operations
- Increased use of phone calls, virtual meetings and digital tools
Our company activities are global and are based on associated production, distribution and warehouse networks in order to prevent possible disruptions of supply. At this point in time we do not see a direct impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our supply chain and we continue to closely observe further developments across countries. However, there might be challenges which are out of our control and delivery delays may occur in isolated cases. We will do our best to keep you informed about any such delays as soon as possible. However, we ask for your kind understanding in case we should not always able to do so promptly, as current information about the outbreak and global actions taken against it are changing quickly.
We are fully committed to working with you closely as the situation develops. As a leading Specialty Chemicals company, our cornerstones of safety and health-consciousness has put caution at the forefront of our decision-making. Our experienced colleagues will continue to work thoughtfully and conscientiously to help us get through this global health crisis, together.
